The Royalty committee’s purpose is to facilitate the development of young women whose mandate is to promote and preserve Western heritage and values through playing the role of Calgary Stampede ambassador. Horsemanship, hospitality, generosity and friendliness are cornerstones of this role.
Through our contest which showcases their skills, and their in-depth training program, these young women are afforded the opportunity to further develop skills in such areas as horsemanship, public speaking, media relations, Stampede and agricultural history as well as learning about the partnership with the First Nations people of Southern Alberta.
In addition to our comprehensive training program, our Trio is generously supported through an academic education award program that assists in their post-secondary pursuits. These post-secondary pursuits are also augmented by the option to complete a Prior Learning Assessment for credit, if approved by the institution, whereby the individual has the opportunity to compile her year’s experience into a presentation for credit towards her program.
