Congratulations to our top six contestants! Be sure to join us on September 23 to see who will be crowned the 2020 Calgary Stampede Queen and Princesses.
If you are thinking about running for Stampede Royalty in the future, please take a look at the following requirements:
Must identify as a female not younger than 19 years of age and not older than 24 years of age as of September 1, 2019.
Must have received a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have basic social media fluency and understanding.
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
You must be a resident of Alberta for at least 12 months previous to application.
Must possess a current passport valid for at least 6 months after crowning and include a copy of your current passport with your entry form.
Must not have a criminal record and must consent to a Security Check and Vulnerable Sector and Criminal search.
Must agree to reside within 100 km of Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta if you are successful in the contest. Your place of employment or educational institution must also meet this requirement.
If crowned, must possess a current, valid Class 5 driver’s license (NOT GDL) on or before October 31, 2019 and have reliable access to a vehicle.
Must be able to demonstrate competent and safe horseback riding ability by submitting the following with your application:
A copy of the Horsemanship Competence Statement, available at this link, attesting to your equestrian skills and abilities, signed and initialed by you and a bona fide equestrian trainer.
This requirement is to attest to your safety and competence when riding a horse, as this is a required skill for this potential position.
